Magnetic and Magneto-optical Properties of Conjugated Polymers |

概要Conjugated polymers have rarely been explored for their possible usage in plastic magnetic and magneto-optic devices. Our discovery of giant Faraday rotation - several orders of magnitude higher than in usual commercial materials - at room temperature in (films of) conjugated (semi)conducting polythiophenes opens the way to many new applications in magneto-optics. In this presentation, poly(3-dodecyl)thiophene (P3DT), poly(3-octyloxy)thiophene (P3OT), PEDOT and polyaniline are discussed as magneto-optically (MO) active conjugated polymers. Efficient Faraday rotation is not limited to these polymers, but seems to be a general effect in conjugated polymers. 連絡先 戒能研(5668)
